Becca ReyesBecca Reyes is a sound designer and film composer born and based in Copenhagen.

Initially a guitarist since adolescence, she has evolved her creative praxis to primarily consist of recordings of guitar and piano, antique instruments and self-built sound sources, and hereafter morphing these samples and field recordings into the unrecognizable. With a big heart for texture, microtonality and happy accidents, her music often exists in the space between eeriness, unpredictability and harmony.

Born in Copenhagen, with upbringings in Costa Rica, Peru and Nicaragua, Reyes studied piano and violin at the age of 7 in school. Growing up in a house with a Danish mom and Honduran dad, provided a rich and diverse musical upbringing consisting mainly of Latin American folklore and classical, European traditions; her musical and compositional expression is heavily influenced by both.

As a teenager living in Managua, she picked up the acoustic guitar and studied classical pieces for a handful of years before picking up the electric guitar to play the heaviest metal, she could find.

Since 2021, she started working in film as a sound designer, initially as a sound assistent for the recognized Danish film composer Kristian Eidnes Andersen. Reyes spent two years learning the ins and outs of cinematic sound design at Eidnes Studios, before embarking on short film projects as a lead sound recordist and designer.

In 2024, Reyes started her master's degree at the Danish National Academy of Music; a programme located at the National Film School of Denmark, where she graduated in 2026.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Musicology, University of Copenhagen (2016). Master's Degree in Film Composition, Danish National Academy of Music (2026).
